What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Lung Master, a pulmonary exerciser designed to enhance lung capacity and improve breathing in individuals. Participants will undergo spirometry tests to measure lung function before and after using the device at home for one month. The study aims to assess how daily use of the Lung Master can strengthen respiratory muscles and increase overall lung function. Two groups of healthy participants, aged 19-35 and 65 and above, will be recruited for this interventional study.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals aged 19-35 or 65 and older who can commit to daily use of the device.

Not a fit: Patients with existing respiratory or chronic conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved breathing and lung function for individuals suffering from chronic breathlessness.

How similar studies have performed: While the Lung Master is an investigational device, similar approaches using pulmonary exercisers have shown promise in improving lung function in other studies.
