What this trial studies

This study aims to enhance the management of hypertension among HIV-infected individuals in Mozambique by implementing a Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach (SAIA). It focuses on optimizing the hypertension care cascade within HIV clinics, which serve as the primary healthcare access point for many patients. The intervention will utilize low-cost tools to improve service performance, promote routine diagnosis and management of hypertension, and streamline patient flow through the care cascade. By engaging frontline staff and management, the study seeks to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults living with HIV who are receiving antiretroviral therapy at primary care facilities in Mozambique.

Not a fit: Patients who do not have access to primary care facilities or are not receiving antiretroviral therapy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve hypertension management and health outcomes for HIV-infected individuals in Mozambique.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using systems-level interventions to improve chronic disease management, suggesting a promising approach for this population.
