What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an artificial intelligence-based noise reduction system integrated into Phonak hearing aids. It will assess whether this technology can provide measurable improvements in hearing and speech perception for individuals with hearing impairment. Participants will include those who do not currently use hearing aids, those who do, and cochlear implant patients with a single-sided implant. The intervention involves the DEEPSONIC™ Deep Sound Optimized Neural Integrated Chip designed to enhance auditory experiences.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with hearing impairment who are either not using hearing aids or currently using them, as well as cochlear implant patients with a single-sided implant.

Not a fit: Patients with normal hearing or those who do not have hearing impairment may not receive any benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this could significantly enhance the hearing experience for patients with hearing loss.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using AI for hearing enhancement, suggesting a potential for success with this approach.
