What this trial studies

This study aims to enhance health outcomes for children aged 3 to 11 who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) through a multi-component intervention. It employs a randomized controlled trial design involving 340 families, utilizing a Three-Tier Model that includes pediatricians, community health workers, and parenting educators. These professionals are trained in an evidence-informed curriculum to provide essential resources and support to families, addressing their diverse needs. Participants will undergo evaluations at multiple time points to assess the effectiveness of the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 3 to 11 who have recently attended a well-child visit at a participating pediatric clinic.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 3 years or older than 11 years, have significant congenital medical problems, or have participated in a parenting program in the last 12 months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve the resilience and overall health of children affected by adverse childhood experiences.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated that multi-component interventions can improve health outcomes for children with ACEs, suggesting that this approach has potential for success.
