What this trial studies
The Vermont RETAIN initiative aims to enhance employment outcomes for individuals facing injuries or illnesses that threaten their ability to work. This program involves collaboration between the Vermont Department of Labor, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to implement stay-at-work and return-to-work (SAW/RTW) services. Participants receive personalized assessments and care coordination through a mobile health app, while medical providers are trained in best practices for managing work disability. The evaluation will assess the program's implementation, participant outcomes, and cost-effectiveness.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 or older, currently employed or seeking employment, who have a recent injury or illness affecting their work capabilities.
Not a fit: Patients who have been out of work for more than 12 weeks or are currently receiving disability benefits may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly improve job retention and reduce reliance on disability programs for individuals with work-limiting conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in similar approaches to improving employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, indicating potential for success.
