What this trial studies
The Ohio RETAIN initiative aims to enhance employment outcomes for individuals facing disabilities due to injuries or illnesses. This program involves collaboration between the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Mercy Health, focusing on providing medical provider services and stay-at-work/return-to-work (SAW/RTW) coordination. Participants are randomly assigned to either receive the full suite of RETAIN interventions or serve as a control group, allowing for a comparative analysis of outcomes. The evaluation will document the implementation process, describe participant demographics, and assess the overall impact of the program on employment and health outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are employed individuals aged 18-65 living in specific Ohio counties with qualifying musculoskeletal injuries or cardiovascular conditions.
Not a fit: Patients who are not currently employed or actively seeking employment may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly improve job retention and reduce reliance on disability programs for individuals with work-related injuries or illnesses.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in improving employment outcomes through similar interventions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
