What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the impact of a food education intervention on the adherence to the Mediterranean diet, nutritional status, physical activity levels, and potential eating disorders among international students at the University of Pavia. Participants will undergo assessments before and after a six-month intervention to determine any changes in their dietary habits and health outcomes. The study focuses on understanding how adapting to a new food culture can influence students' overall well-being and lifestyle choices.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are international students aged 18 and older who are not of Italian nationality and can understand English or Italian.
Not a fit: Patients who are under 18 years old, of Italian nationality, or have major health conditions affecting food choices will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance the nutritional health and physical activity levels of international students, potentially reducing the risk of eating disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited information on similar studies, interventions focusing on dietary education have shown promise in improving health outcomes in various populations.
