What this trial studies

This observational study aims to enhance the diagnosis of adnexal masses by implementing systematic image descriptions and evaluating various imaging methods and biomarkers. It focuses on distinguishing between benign and malignant adnexal masses through ultrasonography, MRI, and PET-CT, guided by IOTA recommendations. The study will also assess the management of conservatively treated adnexal masses by monitoring complications and longitudinal changes. Data will be collected prospectively but analyzed retrospectively, ensuring adherence to national and regional clinical guidelines.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with an adnexal mass identified through ultrasonography.

Not a fit: Patients without an adnexal mass or those who have already undergone definitive treatment for ovarian cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses of ovarian cancer, improving patient outcomes and treatment strategies.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing systematic imaging approaches have shown promise in improving diagnostic accuracy for ovarian cancer, indicating that this approach is supported by prior research.
