Improving COVID-19 and influenza vaccination rates in adults
Evaluation of a Multilevel Intervention on Adult COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccination Rate
This study is testing two ways to see if they can help more adults get vaccinated for COVID-19 and the flu by sending letters to patients and reminding doctors to encourage vaccinations during visits.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates two strategies aimed at increasing the vaccination rates for COVID-19 and influenza among adults. It involves eight primary care practices affiliated with the Mayo Clinic, where four clinics will implement the strategies while the other four will not. One strategy includes sending a letter to patients emphasizing the importance of vaccination, while the other involves monthly reminders to clinicians to encourage vaccination during patient visits. The effectiveness of these interventions will be assessed after six months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 19 years and older who are patients at one of the participating primary care practices.
Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 19 years or not enrolled in one of the eight primary care practices will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly increase vaccination rates for COVID-19 and influenza, leading to better public health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that targeted communication strategies can effectively improve vaccination rates, suggesting that this approach may yield positive results.
