What this trial studies
The PRIME initiative is designed to enhance colorectal cancer screening and follow-up care among predominantly Latinx populations through a multi-faceted approach. This non-randomized trial employs video text messages, mailed FIT kits, and patient navigation to tackle barriers such as misinformation and access issues. By addressing social determinants of health, the study aims to increase screening rates and improve outcomes for colorectal cancer. Participants will receive tailored interventions to facilitate their engagement in the screening process.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 45-64 who are eligible for colorectal cancer screening and have not recently undergone screening.
Not a fit: Patients with a personal history of colorectal cancer or those with end-stage diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly increase colorectal cancer screening rates and reduce health disparities in Latinx communities.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using telehealth and community-based interventions to improve cancer screening rates, indicating a promising approach.
