Impact of Tumor Location on Bladder Cancer Prognosis
Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China

What this trial studies
This observational study investigates how the location of tumors affects the prognosis of patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) who have undergone transurethral bladder tumor resection (TURBT). By analyzing a large dataset from 15 hospitals in China and SEER registries, the study aims to determine the relationship between tumor location and patient outcomes, including overall survival, disease-specific survival, and recurrence-free survival. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for clinical treatment and surgical approaches for NMIBC patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients who have been diagnosed with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and have undergone TURBT or partial cystectomy.
Not a fit: Patients with unknown survival times or incomplete tumor location information will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved prognostic assessments and tailored treatment strategies for NMIBC patients based on tumor location.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have indicated the significance of tumor location in bladder cancer prognosis, suggesting that this approach is supported by existing literature.
