What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the effects of the ongoing crisis in New Caledonia on military personnel, particularly focusing on operational fatigue and chronic stress disorder. It will evaluate how prolonged exposure to stressors, such as extended working hours and reduced rest, affects soldiers' mental states. The study will also identify protective organizational and human factors that may help mitigate operational fatigue. Conducted over two months, it will involve healthy military personnel who are permanently stationed in New Caledonia.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are military personnel who are permanently posted in New Caledonia during the crisis.

Not a fit: Patients on temporary assignments or those with specific legal or health restrictions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved strategies for managing stress and enhancing resilience among military personnel during crises.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on operational stress in military settings exist, this specific focus on the New Caledonian crisis and its unique stressors is relatively novel.
