What this trial studies

This observational study investigates the effects of psychological stress on the outcomes of patients with glioblastoma undergoing chemoradiation. It employs various methods to measure stress, including physiological assessments, stress biomarkers, and questionnaires. The study aims to understand how stress influences treatment efficacy and explores the potential role of physical activity and sleep in mitigating stress. Ultimately, it seeks to identify high-stress patients to develop future interventions aimed at reducing stress during treatment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults diagnosed with glioblastoma or similar high-grade astrocytomas who are undergoing chemoradiation and can use a smartwatch.

Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those without access to a smartphone will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment outcomes and quality of life for glioblastoma patients by addressing stress management.

How similar studies have performed: While the relationship between stress and treatment outcomes has been explored in other contexts, this specific approach focusing on glioblastoma and the integration of technology is relatively novel.
