What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of progressive resistance training on vasomotor symptoms, depression, and fatigue in postmenopausal women aged 50 to 60. Conducted at Civil Hospital and Kalsoom Hospital Samundry, the study will randomly assign 26 participants into two groups: one receiving resistance training and health education, and the other receiving only health education. Data will be collected at baseline and after 8 weeks of treatment, with analysis performed using SPSS version 21. The aim is to explore the relationship between resistance training and the alleviation of menopausal symptoms.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are postmenopausal women aged 50 to 60 experiencing moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms.

Not a fit: Patients with chronic metabolic or endocrine diseases, those receiving hormone replacement therapy, or individuals with cognitive impairment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a non-pharmacological approach to alleviate menopausal symptoms and improve the quality of life for postmenopausal women.

How similar studies have performed: While many studies have focused on hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms, this approach of examining resistance training is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
