What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of an antioxidant food supplement on sperm proteomic structure and semen parameters in men experiencing asthenozoospermia, a common cause of male infertility. Participants aged 20-40 who have been infertile for at least 12 months will receive either the antioxidant supplement or a placebo. The study aims to determine if the antioxidant treatment can improve sperm motility and overall fertility outcomes by addressing oxidative stress-related damage. The research is based on previous findings that suggest antioxidants may enhance semen quality.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are men aged 20-40 who have been diagnosed with asthenozoospermia and have normal hormonal values and physical examinations.

Not a fit: Patients with previous infertility treatments, chronic illnesses, or those who smoke or have alcohol addiction may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a new dietary intervention to improve sperm motility and enhance fertility in men with asthenozoospermia.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive effects of antioxidant supplementation on semen parameters, indicating potential success for this approach.
