What this trial studies

This study aims to identify neuroinflammation and neuroimaging biomarkers in older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD) using data-driven artificial intelligence techniques. By analyzing brain structure, cerebral blood flow, and immune cell populations, the study seeks to characterize subgroups at high risk for dementia. Participants will undergo cognitive assessments and MR imaging at various intervals, and blood samples will be collected to evaluate inflammatory markers. The ultimate goal is to develop tailored early interventions for those showing cognitive decline.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are older adults aged 65 to 89 with a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment or Subjective Cognitive Decline.

Not a fit: Patients with neurological disorders, dementia, or psychiatric conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to personalized prevention strategies for individuals at risk of developing dementia.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using neuroimaging and inflammatory markers to predict dementia risk, making this approach both relevant and potentially impactful.
