What this trial studies
The ENRICH initiative is a cluster randomized clinical trial aimed at enhancing cardiovascular health among mothers and their children through home visiting interventions. This study will involve 6400 participants, including 3200 parent-child dyads, recruited from diverse communities with high cardiovascular disease risk factors. The intervention will compare the effects of a structured home visiting program against usual home visiting practices, focusing on promoting cardiovascular health and reducing health disparities.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include pregnant individuals enrolled in evidence-based home visiting programs, aged 18 or older, who speak English or Spanish.
Not a fit: Patients who are not currently enrolled in an evidence-based home visiting program or are under 18 years of age may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve cardiovascular health outcomes for mothers and their children, particularly in underserved communities.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing home visiting interventions have shown promise in improving health outcomes, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
