What this trial studies
This study compares two approaches to providing physical activity advice to patients with liver cirrhosis who are preparing for discharge from the hospital. One group will receive standard oral advice on exercise, while the other will be given a structured paper template outlining physical activity recommendations. The goal is to determine which method is more effective in promoting physical activity among these patients. The study aims to improve post-hospitalization outcomes through better exercise adherence.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients diagnosed with liver cirrhosis who are preparing for discharge from the hospital and can understand Swedish.
Not a fit: Patients with severe pain preventing physical activity or those with a performance status of 3 or higher may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance recovery and quality of life for patients with liver cirrhosis by promoting effective physical activity.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies on exercise interventions for chronic conditions have shown promise, this specific approach is relatively novel.
