What this trial studies
This observational study aims to develop and refine an intervention called FinFit, which addresses financial hardship faced by adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors. The study synthesizes insights from previous programs, CHAT and LIFT, to create a comprehensive approach that considers the unique financial challenges these individuals encounter. Participants will engage in in-depth interviews and focus groups to provide feedback on the intervention's design and implementation. The goal is to ensure that the intervention effectively meets the needs of AYA cancer survivors in community oncology settings.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have participated in the CHAT or LIFT programs and can provide insights into financial challenges faced by AYA cancer survivors.
Not a fit: Patients who have not been involved in the preliminary programs or are unfamiliar with the proposed forms of FinFit will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly alleviate financial burdens for young cancer survivors, improving their overall quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative in its specific focus on financial hardship among AYA cancer survivors, similar interventions addressing financial issues in cancer care have shown promise in other studies.
