What this trial studies
This observational pilot will enroll the first 100 Wellness Institute members to develop and user-test baseline data collection for a larger prospective cohort. Data collected will include physical activity, diet, sleep, stress, cognition, frailty, health history, facility and program usage, vital signs, VO2 max, body composition, basic labs, urinalysis, social determinants, and wellbeing. A public engagement participatory approach will form an advisory group of public/patient partners who will help choose which healthy aging outcomes and measures matter most. Findings from the pilot and advisory group will be used to finalize objectives and outcome measures for the full cohort.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are Wellness Institute members aged 30 or older who can read English, provide informed consent, are not pregnant or lactating, are not Wellness Institute employees, and have access to an Android or iOS device for dietary tracking.
Not a fit: People who are not Wellness Institute members, are pregnant or lactating, are Wellness Institute employees, or lack a compatible smartphone or tablet are unlikely to benefit from participating.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could help identify which facility programs and lifestyle factors best support healthier aging and improve future program design and services.
How similar studies have performed: Large cohort studies have linked activity and lifestyle to aging outcomes, but combining detailed medical fitness facility usage with a public/patient co-design approach is relatively novel and not widely tested.
