What this trial studies
This observational study aims to understand the preferences of patients in the UK regarding their place of care for gynecologic cancers. It seeks to gather insights on where patients prefer to receive investigation, treatment, and follow-up care, highlighting the importance of patient-centered approaches in healthcare. Previous pilot work indicated that many patients are dissatisfied with care being co-located with obstetrics and gynecology services. The study will analyze patient feedback to inform potential improvements in service organization.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are females aged 18 or over who have been referred for suspected gynecological cancer or have a previous diagnosis of gynecological malignancy.
Not a fit: Patients who are male or unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more patient-centered care models for gynecologic cancer treatment.
How similar studies have performed: This approach is novel, as previous work in this area has been limited, indicating a gap in understanding patient preferences.
