Follow-up care after endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm
Follow-up After Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
This study looks at how well patients are doing after having a special procedure to fix their abdominal aortic aneurysm, to see if the repairs are safe and lasting over time.

What this trial studies
This study collects and analyzes clinical follow-up data from patients who have undergone endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) using Zenith and Chuter-Gianturco stent-grafts. It focuses on assessing the safety, efficacy, and durability of these repairs by monitoring patients over time, particularly those who have surpassed the two-year follow-up period. The study aims to ensure ongoing scrutiny of stent-graft structure and function to identify any late complications that may necessitate re-intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with an abdominal aortic aneurysm greater than 4 cm in diameter or those with a history of significant growth.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have a life expectancy of less than two years, or are unwilling to comply with follow-up schedules may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the long-term safety and effectiveness of endovascular AAA repairs, leading to better patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown the importance of long-term follow-up in patients with stent-grafts, indicating that this approach is supported by existing evidence.
