What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of fish oil supplementation on sperm quality in men with poor semen parameters. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either fish oil capsules or a placebo for a duration of three months. Sperm samples will be collected at the beginning and end of the study to assess changes in quality. The study employs a double-blind design to ensure unbiased results, with both participants and assessors unaware of the treatment assignments.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men aged 18-55 with documented poor sperm quality.

Not a fit: Patients with known allergies to fish products or specific medical conditions affecting sperm quality may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a new dietary intervention to enhance male fertility.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with omega-3 fatty acids in improving sperm quality, suggesting this approach may be effective.
