What this trial studies
This intervention, known as Dialogical Family Guidance (DFG), is designed to support families with children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders by providing them with guidance and information tailored to their daily lives. The program consists of six meetings where trained professionals help families address individual concerns and share their experiences. This postdoctoral study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of DFG across different healthcare units and understand which settings and age groups benefit most from the intervention. The research will also compare outcomes between various units to optimize the delivery of support.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are families with a child aged 4-13 years who has a clinical diagnosis of a neurodevelopmental disorder.
Not a fit: Families without a child diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder or those who do not speak Finnish may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve family dynamics and support for families dealing with neurodevelopmental disorders.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated positive outcomes for similar family support interventions, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
