Exploring the use of F-choline PET imaging for various medical conditions
Choline-PET: Exploratory Study Assessing the Potential Role of F-choline PET Imaging in New and Emerging Indications

What this trial studies
This study investigates the diagnostic performance of F-choline PET imaging in patients with known or suspected conditions that may benefit from this imaging technique. F-choline is a radiotracer that has shown promise in visualizing choline metabolism, which is often elevated in certain cancers and medical conditions. The study aims to assess its effectiveness compared to existing imaging methods, particularly in cases involving prostate cancer, parathyroid adenomas, cervical cancers, and liver cancers. Participants will receive an intravenous injection of F-choline to evaluate its potential clinical utility.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with known or suspected conditions where F-choline PET imaging may provide valuable clinical insights.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have known allergies to F-choline will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning for patients with specific cancers and conditions.
How similar studies have performed: While F-choline has been studied in prostate cancer, its broader applications in other conditions are still emerging and not yet fully validated.
