What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of the Tomatis auditory stimulation method in enhancing auditory processing abilities in children and adolescents diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. It is designed as a two-arm, randomized controlled trial conducted at a psychiatric unit in Romania. Participants will undergo the Tomatis training, and their auditory processing skills will be assessed at baseline and immediately after the intervention to determine any improvements.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children and adolescents diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders who do not have an intellectual disability.
Not a fit: Patients with intellectual disabilities may not benefit from this study as they are excluded from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved auditory processing skills in children with neurodevelopmental disorders, enhancing their overall communication and learning abilities.
How similar studies have performed: While the Tomatis method has been explored in various contexts, this specific application in children with neurodevelopmental disorders is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in clinical trials.
