Exploring the needs and quality of life in advanced cancer patients receiving immunotherapy
Exploring Physical and Psychological Distress, Financial Toxicity, Care Needs and Quality of Life in Patients With Advanced Cancer Receiving Immunotherapy in One Year Follow-up: Psychometric Testing and Developing Prediction Models for Immune-related Adverse Events
This study looks at how advanced cancer patients on immunotherapy are doing physically and mentally to see if their needs are being met and how their quality of life can be improved.

What this trial studies
This study aims to investigate the physical and psychological needs of patients with advanced cancer undergoing immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. It will assess the severity of immune-related adverse events (irAEs), financial toxicity, and overall quality of life through a combination of cross-sectional and prospective cohort methodologies. Patients will complete a series of structured questionnaires at various points during their treatment to gather data on their experiences and needs. The findings will help develop a risk prediction model to identify high-risk patients and improve care strategies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
Not a fit: Patients currently participating in other clinical trials may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of the challenges faced by cancer patients receiving immunotherapy, leading to improved support and care.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on the quality of life in cancer patients, this specific approach focusing on irAEs and financial toxicity in the context of immunotherapy is relatively novel.
