What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate how body mass index (BMI) relates to health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) in patients with solid tumors. It will assess the association between BMI and HR-QoL using the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire across various cancer settings, including localized and metastatic cancers. The study will include patients over 18 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of solid tumors and will exclude those unable to complete the questionnaire or with second malignancies that could skew results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years with a histologically confirmed diagnosis of a solid tumor.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to complete the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire or have a diagnosis of second malignancies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into how body weight impacts the quality of life for cancer patients, potentially guiding better patient management.
How similar studies have performed: While studies have explored the relationship between BMI and quality of life in various contexts, this specific investigation in cancer patients is relatively novel.
