Exploring the impact of cognitive leisure activities on early Alzheimer's disease
The Impact of Cognitive Leisure Activity Levels on Cognitive Function in the Preclinical Stage of Alzheimer's Disease and the Study of Its Neural Circuitry Regulation Mechanisms
This study looks at how engaging in fun brain activities might help people with early signs of Alzheimer's disease think better and stay mentally active.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to culturally adapt the Cognitive Leisure Activity Scale (CLAS) into Chinese and assess its reliability and validity. It will investigate the relationship between cognitive leisure activities and cognitive function in individuals at the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Additionally, the study seeks to clarify how cognitive leisure activities influence neural circuits in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD). By understanding these connections, the research hopes to inform early intervention strategies for AD.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 60 and older diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD).
Not a fit: Patients with severe hearing or language impairments, or those with conditions that prevent them from undergoing MRI examinations, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to targeted interventions that delay or prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of this study is novel, previous research has indicated that cognitive leisure activities can positively influence cognitive function in various populations.
