What this trial studies
This study investigates the therapeutic effects of ZhenQi FuZheng granules on allergic rhinitis by examining its impact on intestinal flora and metabolites. It aims to establish a specimen library and utilize cell and animal models alongside clinical cohort research to assess the granules' mechanism of action. The hypothesis is that these granules can alter metabolic omics related to nasal inflammatory factors, potentially reducing type 2 inflammation in patients with allergic rhinitis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-65 diagnosed with allergic rhinitis who are visiting the Department of Otolaryngology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University.
Not a fit: Patients with nasal diseases other than allergic rhinitis or those who refuse specimen and questionnaire collection may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly improve the management of allergic rhinitis and enhance patients' quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of using ZhenQi FuZheng granules in this context may be novel, similar studies exploring the relationship between traditional medicine and allergic conditions have shown promising results.
