What this trial studies

This observational qualitative study aims to describe the characteristics of chronic pelvic pain experienced by transgender individuals undergoing testosterone therapy and its impact on their quality of life. The study will involve semi-structured interviews with 10 to 15 transmasculine participants who have experienced pelvic pain for at least six months, which has changed since starting testosterone. The research will also investigate the barriers and facilitators to seeking healthcare for this condition, utilizing qualitative analysis methods for data interpretation.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are transmasculine individuals who are currently on testosterone therapy and have experienced pelvic pain that has developed or changed since starting treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who are not undergoing testosterone therapy or who do not experience pelvic pain may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of pelvic pain in transgender individuals, enhancing their quality of life.
