What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the connections between personal identity, autobiographical memory, and future thinking in individuals with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (pwRRMS). It aims to understand how these cognitive aspects influence the way pwRRMS perceive and reshape their identity, particularly in relation to their disease. Participants will undergo neuropsychological tests and psychological questionnaires to assess these relationships. The study focuses on individuals aged 18 to 55 who are French native speakers and have access to the necessary technology for participation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 to 55 with a diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis who are French native speakers.
Not a fit: Patients with forms of MS other than relapsing-remitting, severe cognitive impairment, or significant psychiatric disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of identity management in pwRRMS, potentially leading to improved psychological support and interventions.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing research on memory and identity in neurological conditions, this specific focus on pwRRMS and the interplay of identity, memory, and future thinking is relatively novel.
