What this trial studies
This intervention aims to enhance the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) in hospitalized adults across 12 hospitals in Colorado. It includes universal screening for substance use, protocols for managing opioid withdrawal, and education for healthcare providers. The initiative focuses on increasing the prescription of buprenorphine and methadone, as well as improving post-discharge addiction treatment referrals. Outcomes will be assessed through pre/post implementation evaluations of prescribing practices and healthcare provider perceptions.
