What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a tailored exercise program designed for music students to manage performance anxiety and its associated physical symptoms. Participants will be divided into an experimental group, which will engage in bi-weekly exercise sessions focusing on strengthening postural muscles and relaxation techniques, and a control group with no intervention. The study will last for six weeks, during which participants will complete psychological questionnaires and undergo physical examinations to assess changes in anxiety levels and musculoskeletal pain. The goal is to determine if the exercise program can significantly reduce performance anxiety and improve physical well-being among young instrumentalists.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are young adults aged 18 to 35 who have been playing a musical instrument for at least five years.

Not a fit: Patients with recent locomotor injuries, neurological or oncological diseases, or those taking certain medications may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide young musicians with effective strategies to manage performance anxiety and reduce related musculoskeletal pain.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically targeting this demographic with exercise interventions, similar approaches have shown promise in managing performance anxiety in other populations.
