What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates the outcomes of a Cardio-Oncology Rehabilitation (CORe) program that focuses on exercise for cancer patients undergoing treatments that may cause heart problems. Participants will be offered either in-person or remote exercise options based on their functional assessments and preferences. The program includes a 3-month supervised exercise intervention, with health indicators, functional capacity, and quality of life assessed at baseline, after the intervention, and at a 9-month follow-up. The goal is to improve the overall treatment experience and quality of life for patients at risk of cardiotoxicity.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are cancer patients at high risk of treatment-related cardiotoxicity who can participate in a rehabilitation program.
Not a fit: Patients with physical or mental limitations that prevent them from completing an exercise program may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the quality of life and health outcomes for cancer patients at risk of heart complications.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with exercise-based rehabilitation programs in improving outcomes for cancer patients, indicating a promising approach.
