What this trial studies

This study examines the feasibility and acceptability of a prehabilitation program that combines exercise and nutrition counseling for patients preparing for surgery to remove pancreatic cancer. Participants will engage in physical activity, including resistance training, alongside nutritional guidance to enhance their overall health before undergoing surgical resection. The program aims to improve patients' physical condition and potentially their surgical outcomes. The study will assess how well patients can adhere to this program and their satisfaction with it.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with biopsy-proven borderline resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who are undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Not a fit: Patients with significant underlying health issues, such as unstable cardiac or pulmonary disease, or those who regularly engage in resistance training may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could improve surgical outcomes and recovery for patients with pancreatic cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with prehabilitation programs in various cancer types, suggesting potential success for this approach in pancreatic cancer.
