What this trial studies

This observational study aims to quantify various visual functions in children diagnosed with amblyopia and strabismus. Participants will undergo a series of visual function tests, including eye movements, contrast sensitivity, and visual acuity, both before and after treatment interventions such as patching therapy and glasses. The study will also assess the impact of strabismus surgery on visual functions. Measurements will be repeated throughout the treatment process to evaluate changes in visual capabilities.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children with a history of amblyopia or those exhibiting amblyogenic risk factors.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of neurologic disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and treatment strategies for children with amblyopia and strabismus, enhancing their visual outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in measuring visual function improvements in similar patient populations, indicating that this approach is supported by prior research.
