Examining the prevalence and prognosis of cardiac amyloidosis in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy in Turkey

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients diagnosed with left ventricular hypertrophy to determine the prevalence and prognosis of cardiac amyloidosis. An algorithm will be utilized to further assess these patients, particularly those without left ventricular pressure or volume. The study aims to identify cases of cardiac amyloidosis that may otherwise go undetected. By analyzing the data collected, researchers hope to gain insights into the condition's impact on patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with left ventricular hypertrophy who do not have left ventricular pressure or volume issues.
Not a fit: Patients with confirmed sarcometric hypertrophy cardiomyopathy or those with significant left ventricular pressure or volume will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier diagnosis and better management of cardiac amyloidosis in affected patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies on cardiac amyloidosis, this specific approach focusing on left ventricular hypertrophy in Turkey is relatively novel.
