What this trial studies
This study investigates the relationship between pain perception, the severity of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and spinal health among caregivers of stroke patients. Caregivers over 18 years old from Tokat and Kırıkkale will be recruited through social media and will complete questionnaires in person. The study aims to gather data using various scales to assess pain and discomfort, and statistical analysis will be performed using SPSS to evaluate the correlations between the parameters. A total of 64 participants will be needed to achieve statistically significant results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are caregivers over 18 years old who care for stroke patients and can communicate in Turkish.
Not a fit: Patients who cannot speak, read, or write in Turkish will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into the health challenges faced by caregivers, leading to better support and interventions for their pain and discomfort.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored caregiver health, this specific correlation among pain perception, temporomandibular dysfunction, and spinal health is relatively novel.
