What this trial studies

This study investigates how abnormalities in neural dynamics in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder relate to their ability to process visual stimuli and personal events. Using advanced imaging techniques like fMRI and EEG, the research aims to uncover the underlying neural mechanisms associated with these difficulties. Participants will be assessed based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure a focused study population. The findings could enhance our understanding of psychotic disorders and inform future treatment approaches.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 60 diagnosed with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Not a fit: Patients with addiction issues, significant visual sensory problems, or a history of neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing fMRI and EEG to explore neural dynamics in psychotic disorders have shown promising results, suggesting this approach is both relevant and potentially impactful.
