Examining lymph nodes in non-small cell lung cancer patients
Anatomical Location and Metastasis Pattern of Intrapulmonary Lymph Nodes in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: a Multi-center, Prospective Observational Clinical Trial
Fudan University · NCT05094882
This study looks at the lymph nodes in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer to see how they are affected by the disease and what that means for treatment.

What this trial studies
This observational clinical trial evaluates the anatomical location and metastasis patterns of intrapulmonary lymph nodes in patients with clinical stage T1 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Participants will undergo a lobectomy, after which the anatomical details of specific lymph node groups will be documented. The study aims to enhance understanding of lymph node involvement in NSCLC and its implications for treatment and prognosis. Follow-up assessments will explore the metastasis patterns over time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients diagnosed with clinical T1 peripheral non-small cell lung cancer who are eligible for lobectomy.
Not a fit: Patients with non-T1 stage NSCLC or those who have received prior anti-tumor treatments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve surgical strategies and outcomes for patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in lymph node involvement in lung cancer, this specific observational approach focusing on anatomical locations and metastasis patterns is relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: 1. Preoperative examination showed patients with clinical T1 peripheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); 2. The lesion is located in a single lung segment or between two adjacent lung segments; 3. Perform radical lobectomy; 4. The preoperative examination did not reveal unresectable lymph nodes; 5. Have not received any other tumor-related treatments (including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc.) before surgery; 6. No malignant tumor history; 7. No contraindications to surgery (ECOG score 0-1 points); Exclusion Criteria: 1. Pathology revealed patients with non-T1 stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); 2. Radical lobectomy is not performed; 3. Acception of any anti-tumor treatment before surgery (excluding Chinese medicine treatment); 4. Refused to enter the group or asked to leave the group.
