What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the relationship between executive function problems and physical performance as well as overall well-being in individuals with obesity. Participants will be categorized into two groups based on their cognitive assessment scores and body mass index (BMI). The study will include individuals aged 18 to 65 with a BMI of 30 or higher, assessing how cognitive abilities impact their physical capabilities and quality of life. The findings could provide insights into the cognitive aspects of obesity and inform future interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are obese individuals aged 18-65 with a BMI of 30 or higher and varying levels of cognitive function.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have obesity or those with significant cognitive impairments or other serious health conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management strategies for obesity by addressing cognitive factors.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into the cognitive aspects of obesity, this specific approach focusing on executive function and its impact on physical performance is relatively novel.
