What this trial studies
This evaluation assesses the flexible and integrative psychiatric care model (FIT) implemented at the Pfalzklinikum, aiming to determine its advantages over standard psychiatric care. The FIT model promotes cross-sectoral treatment and allows for adaptable treatment intensities tailored to individual patient needs. The project, initiated in January 2020, involves collaboration with over 20 statutory health insurance funds and focuses on enhancing patient care through Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) in patients' home environments. The study will analyze the effectiveness of this model in improving patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals receiving treatment at the Pfalzklinikum or a control hospital with specific psychiatric diagnoses and who are insured with participating statutory health insurance funds.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have a permanent residence in Germany or lack sufficient follow-up data will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this model could lead to improved mental health outcomes and greater patient satisfaction through more personalized and flexible care.
How similar studies have performed: While there are other FIT projects in Germany, this specific evaluation is among the largest and aims to provide new insights into the effectiveness of such models.
