What this trial studies
This study evaluates the survival and treatment outcomes of colorectal cancer patients receiving anti-cancer therapies, comparing those treated with and without an immunomodulator called Astragalus Polysaccharide Injection. Colorectal cancer is a prevalent condition with often unsatisfactory treatment results, and this research aims to explore how targeting the tumor microenvironment may enhance therapy effectiveness. By analyzing clinical data and survival status from medical records, the study seeks to provide insights into the potential benefits of combining immunomodulators with standard cancer treatments. The findings could guide physicians in making informed treatment recommendations for their patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 20 and older who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and have started anti-cancer therapies between January 1, 2020, and April 30, 2024.
Not a fit: Patients who have not been diagnosed with colorectal cancer or those who have not initiated anti-cancer therapies during the specified timeframe may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved survival rates and treatment outcomes for colorectal cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of immunomodulators in cancer treatment is an emerging area, this specific approach with Astragalus Polysaccharide Injection has not been extensively tested in similar studies.
