What this trial studies

This observational study aims to optimize the care pathway for patients suffering from chronic low back pain by utilizing a patented computerized tactile mapping system to objectively assess pain intensity and surface area. It will explore the relationship between sociodemographic, psychological, and physiological factors and patient responses to standard care. The study will also investigate how different assessment tools correlate with patient outcomes and how therapy effectiveness varies based on individual characteristics. By introducing a more rational and objective evaluation of therapies, the study seeks to improve treatment strategies for chronic low back pain.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have experienced low back pain for more than three months and have a pain level of at least 2 on the Visual Analog Scale.

Not a fit: Patients with a life expectancy of less than 12 months or those under legal protection or in emergency situations may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective and personalized treatment options for patients with chronic low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on chronic pain management, this approach utilizing a computerized tactile mapping system is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
