What this trial studies
This study examines the usability of the Smart Hallway system, which utilizes markerless and contactless technologies to analyze patients' gait as they walk through a hallway. By merging 2D video into 3D information, the system aims to automatically digitize movements and generate reports with minimal human intervention. The research focuses on identifying and classifying pathological gait and walking disorders, assessing signs of depression, and predicting outcomes from the 6-minute walk test based on the system's data. The findings could enhance rehabilitation practices for patients with lower limb loss or gait disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals who can walk at least 10 meters independently and are native Slovenian speakers.
Not a fit: Patients with severe cognitive impairment or those unable to walk, even with assistance, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the accuracy and efficiency of gait analysis in clinical settings, leading to better rehabilitation outcomes for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using markerless technology for gait analysis is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in enhancing rehabilitation practices.
