What this trial studies

This observational study aims to characterize the adult population who received liver transplants during childhood by assessing their psychosocial outcomes and lifestyle habits. Participants will complete a questionnaire that evaluates their social environment, alcohol consumption, anxiety levels, and knowledge of their disease. The study also focuses on their experiences transitioning from pediatric to adult medical care and their adherence to medication regimens. The findings will help improve understanding of the long-term effects of pediatric liver transplantation.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals over 18 years old who received a liver transplant during childhood and are fluent in French or Dutch.

Not a fit: Patients who are currently under 18 years old will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the quality of care and support for adult liver transplant recipients who were transplanted as children.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown some success in understanding outcomes for pediatric liver transplant recipients, but this specific focus on psychosocial aspects is relatively novel.
