What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the diagnostic and management processes for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and peritoneal carcinosis in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region of France. By collecting and analyzing indicators related to patient care before and during the pandemic, the study seeks to understand the loss of opportunities for diagnosis and treatment due to the pandemic's impact. The data will be gathered retrospectively from medical files of hospitalized patients between 2017 and 2020.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients hospitalized for peritoneal carcinosis or hepatocellular carcinoma in France between 2017 and 2020.
Not a fit: Patients who did not consent to the reuse of their medical data for research will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into improving cancer care protocols during pandemics.
How similar studies have performed: While the impact of COVID-19 on cancer care has been studied, this specific approach focusing on these two pathologies is relatively novel.
