What this trial studies

This study assesses the effectiveness of the Collaborative Community Clinic (CCC), which provides occupational therapy services to uninsured or under-insured individuals with spinal cord injuries and diseases. Researchers will analyze data from participants who have consented to have their information stored in a data repository, focusing on initial and follow-up assessments. The study aims to include up to 200 participants over five years, with data checked for accuracy and completeness. Statistical methods for analysis will be determined after data collection is complete.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of spinal cord injury or disease who are uninsured or under-insured for occupational therapy services.

Not a fit: Patients under 18 years of age, those without a spinal cord injury or disease diagnosis, or those with full insurance coverage for occupational therapy services may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve access to effective occupational therapy services for individuals with spinal cord injuries and diseases.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is focused on a specific community clinic model, similar studies evaluating occupational therapy interventions for spinal cord injuries have shown positive outcomes.
