Evaluating postural control in patients with hemiparesis and neuromuscular diseases
Validation Study of Posturology Platforms and Exploratory Study for Evaluating Postural Control of Hemiparetic and Neuro-muscular Patients
This study is testing a new way to measure balance in people with hemiparesis and neuromuscular diseases to see if it gives better information than the usual methods.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to validate the use of K-Force Plates for assessing postural control in patients with hemiparesis and neuromuscular diseases. By comparing data obtained from these plates with traditional AMTI platforms, the study seeks to enhance the understanding of postural strategies in these patients. The evaluation includes both static and dynamic conditions, and correlates posturological and kinematic data with clinical scores to provide a comprehensive assessment of postural control. The findings could lead to improved monitoring of disease progression in affected individuals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who are single stroke hemiparetic patients, patients with neuromuscular diseases, or healthy individuals without neurological disorders.
Not a fit: Patients with bilateral brain injuries, major cognitive impairments, or other uncontrolled medical conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more accurate and sensitive method for monitoring postural control in patients with neuromuscular diseases and hemiparesis.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is novel in the context of K-Force Plates, similar studies using traditional posturographic methods have shown success in evaluating postural control.
